Following reports that television pioneer Dick Clark died of a heart attack at age 82, members of the entertainment world expressed their condolences on the social network, Twitter.

Clark was the creator and host of music program American Bandstand and the popular host of  ABC’s “New Year’s Rockin Eve.”  He suffered a stroke in 2004 and died of a heart attack this morning at St. John’s Hospital in L.A.
