On his song “iLLuminate” Carson, CA  MC  Ab-Soul raised some eyebrows when he rhymed, “I used to wanna rap like Jay-Z/Now I feel I could run laps around Jay-Z/Nas ain’t seen nothing this nasty/B.I.G. & Pac got it coming when I pass too.

In this interview with Life+Times he explains that the bars were simply an invitation to spar with the legends (the living ones anyway), not to incite any real beef.

“This is basically a traditional or a conventional jab at my favorite artists or favorite players in the game at the time,” said Ab-Soul. “It was just extending a challenge to play on their same court, if you will.” Watch the full clip below.
