Without any contact, the QB completely tore his left ACL and dislocated his knee during practice. His injury was so bad practice was canceled and an ambulance came and rushed him to the nearest hospital.
As it turns out, it’s a good thing the ambulance arrived so quickly because there’s a chance Bridgewater could have lost his leg without immediate treatment.
Source confirms tibiofemoral dislocation, ruptured ACL for Bridgewater. "Trainers may have saved his leg and career by quick action."
Sports writer Will Carroll explains the injury could have led to arterial strangulation, which means the 23-year-old could have lost mobility in his leg. Carroll sites former NFL running back Napoleon McCallum, whose calf and hamstring muscles ripped from the bone in the ’90s. He also dislocated his knee and tore three ligaments. McCallum was never cleared to play again.
@TiceSing_3 At least functionally and yeah, you could see a worst case where there's arterial strangulation. See: McCallum, Napoleon.
